If ever there was a restaurant hotbed in the making, Lake Nona would be it – it’s so far away from everything that it’s on the developers to provide entertainment for their residents, and they seem to be working to do just that. The Laureate Parksection of the planned community will soon house a 300-seat lakeside restaurant, courtesy of the Tavistock Group (remember Timpano Chophouse?) and Atlanta-based Concentrics Restaurants (the design gurus behind Luma, Prato, Slate and the soon-to-open SOMM).
According to press materials, the “original concept” will be part of the Tavistock Restaurant Collection portfolio, none of whose restaurants are located in Orlando. Developing one in Lake Nona seems a no-brainer, considering Lake Nona was the brain child of the Tavistock Group. Also not a surprise: The yet-to-be-named restaurant will be situated just off Tavistock Lakes Boulevard.
