Pig Floyd’s Coming to Lake Nona

Today, Pig Floyd’s Urban Barbakoa confirmed its second location will open soon in the fast-growing Lake Nona community in southeast Orlando.

The restaurant, which is tentatively set to open in the first quarter of 2017, will be located in Lake Nona Village on Narcoossee Road. Pig Floyd’s joins several other restaurants in the Village including Graeme McDowell’s Nona Blue, Makis Place, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, Panera Bread, and Piazza Italia.

Tavistock Sales and Leasing Associate Mitch Heidrich represented the landlord.

Lake Nona Village is located on Narcoossee Road between the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club and NorthLake Park neighborhoods. Pig Floyd’s is known for its urban barbakoa style barbeque. The current location is located in the Mills 50 District in Orlando, Fla.

“I selected Lake Nona to compliment the local culinary scene and Lake Nona region and community,” said ‪Pig Floyd’s owner Thomas ‘Tito’ Ward. “The opportunity to grow our brand and introduce international barbakoa (barbecue) to a growing central community was important to me. Lake Nona offers a real sense of community and we’re excited to call Lake Nona home.”

“Pig Floyd’s is the latest example of our commitment to attracting homegrown, limited unit concepts to Lake Nona that offer great food and exceptional dining experiences,” said Skipper Peek, vice president of commercial sales and development with Tavistock Development Company, the developer of Lake Nona. Pig Floyd’s joins other Lake Nona specialty restaurants, including Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine, Canvas Restaurant and Market, Chroma Modern Bar + Kitchen, Nona Blue and Piazza Italia.

In addition to Lake Nona Village, Lake Nona offers a wide variety of commercial space for prospective businesses looking to locate in the community. In May, Tavistock announced the development of a 3.8 million-square-foot town center, located in the heart of Lake Nona’s health and life sciences cluster, which will include more than 1 million square feet of mixed-use space in the development of its next phase. Tavistock is also currently under construction on the 467,369-square-foot Lake Nona Landing shopping center just south of SR417 on Narcoossee Road.

Noted as ‘Developer of the Year’ by both the Orlando Business Journal and NAIOP of Central Florida, Tavistock Development is also developing a new 24,000-acre Central Florida community known as Sunbridge, which will include millions of square feet of commercial space within both Orange and Osceola Counties.
