Orlando, Fla. (Nov. 14, 2018) – Lake Nona is kicking off the holiday season with a flurry of activities for the whole family in Lake Nona Town Center. From Dec. 8 – 30, the Lake Nona Holiday Festival will feature one of Central Florida’s only outdoor, open-air skating rinks, live entertainment, occasional snowfalls, festive food and drink options, classic holiday movies, and appearances from the big man himself, Santa Claus. The Lake Nona Holiday Festival will be open Thursday-Sunday from 3 – 10 p.m.
Decked out with all the holiday trimmings, Lake Nona Town Center will transform into a true winter wonderland featuring Christmas trees, lights, a mailbox for letters to Santa, and special holiday programming for Lake Nona’s five-story interactive landmark, The Beacon. Lake Nona Holiday Festival visitors can also expect live performances from holiday carolers, classic mulled wine and roasted chestnuts, and an occasional pine-scented snowfall.
Themed weekend nights will bring the movies to life with unique activations and experiences based on that week’s featured movie. Each movie will start at 7 p.m. The holiday movie schedule includes:
- Saturday, Dec. 8: “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”
- Friday, Dec. 14: “Home Alone”
- Friday, Dec. 21: “The Polar Express”
- Friday, Dec. 28: “Frozen”
