Work has started on Orlando’s third Ronald McDonald House — a $6 million contemporary-style building on the Nemours Hospital campus in Lake Nona’s Medical City.
When completed, possibly in spring 2016, visitors will see a look that differs from the homey touches that have come to define Ronald McDonald Houses, which host families of children undergoing medical treatments. Porches, chair railing and wood-look siding have been replaced by three stories of sharp angles, colored-glass panels and suites for families instead of one-bedroom accommodations.
