Don Davey, a former defensive tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars and his business partner, Scott Anthony, is set to serve steamed subs with premium meats to the Lake Nona community.
The two franchises plan to open a Firehouse Subs in the Lake Nona Landing shopping center on Narcoossee Road sometimes this month.
“We chose to join the Firehouse Subs family not only because we love the food but more importantly because we value the brand’s mission of giving back to the communities it serves,” said Davey.
The Jacksonville-based restaurant chain dedicates part of its sales to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which provides lifesaving equipment to first responders.

The 1,800-square-foot eatery is the 28th Firehouse Subs location for the pair, who reportedly plans to grow the concept in Orlando. It has hired 20 employees for the Lake Nona location.
Lake Nona is also welcoming other restaurants to the area; Rubio’s Coastal Grill is set to open next week near Firehouse Subs.
