Back in 2024, we shared the exciting news that Jack in the Box was looking to bring its famous franchise and 24‑hour drive‑thru to the Lake Nona area. Fast forward to this summer, and there’s a small but notable update:

On April 25, 2025, Jack in the Box filed a sign permit for a planned location at 10105 William Carey Dr., near Narcoossee Rd. That move confirms the brand still has its eye on the Lake Nona area—but don’t expect burgers anytime soon.

What’s happening at the site?

If you drive by the lot today, you’ll see an overgrown patch of land with no signs of construction. Despite the sign permit, no building permit has been issued, which means work on the restaurant itself hasn’t legally begun.

What about an opening date?

So far, nothing official. Online chatter has floated guesses anywhere from spring 2025 to spring 2026, but with permitting still in progress, those dates aren’t looking realistic.

A bigger plan for Orlando

Jack in the Box announced last year that it had franchise agreements to open 10 restaurants in the Orlando area as part of its Florida expansion. While the Lake Nona location is included in that plan, none of the Orlando‑area restaurants have opened yet.

Why this matters

The sign permit is a small step, but it signals that Jack in the Box hasn’t shelved its Lake Nona plans. Until a building permit is approved, though, the timeline remains uncertain.

We’ll keep watching the permit filings and the site itself. If you notice activity—fencing going up, land clearing, or construction crews—let us know.

For now, the dream of grabbing Jack in the Box on your way home from Narcoossee Rd. lives on… just not quite yet.
