Lake Nona is about to become home to Orlando’s first Super Wal-Mart with a drive-up pickup for general merchandise, according to the national retailer.

The big-box, discount retailer plans for its upcoming store on Narcoossee Road in southeast Orlando to have three drive-up lanes for customers to pick up medications from the pharmacy and also overall merchandise. The store is to be completed next year.

Here’s how it is supposed to work: Customers may order their goods online. Once they get an email confirming the order, they will drive to the store’s parking-lot kiosks located under canopies to check in with proper identification. Then they will be directed to a designated parking space where they can wait for an employee bring them their purchases, according to a spokesperson.

“As with any new store, we work closely with the developer and local officials to ensure the store meets the needs of the community,” said Phil Keene, a spokesman for the national retailer. “We recognize Lake Nona is a unique, fast-growing community, and our store will be representative of this.”
